ESPN's John Clayton could see Reggie Bush in Detroit

Bush could be the player to replace Jahvid Best for Lions

As we near next Tuesday's opening of free agency, rumors are running wild among every NFL franchise. The latest to sweep Detroit, however, is running back Reggie Bush. ESPN's John Clayton touched briefly Tuesday morning on Mike & Mike in the Morning about the speculation of Bush coming to Detroit. "Not that he's going to get big money, bit I could see him ending up in Detroit."

Dave Birkett, of the Detroit Free Press, originally stated that the "Lions interest in Reggie Bush is real." With the Lions having just over $9 million in cap space heading into next Tuesday's opening of free agency, it's hard to assume the Lions would meet his demands of over $5 million. Last week we examined the pro's and cons of Reggie Bush in Detroit, however, current reports that are stating his worth will be considerably less make the move enticing. Adding Bush to an offense featuring Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford, Ryan Broyles and Nate Burleson would allow the team to go primarily defense through the draft.

As teams can discuss contracts with agents on Saturday, we eagerly await next Tuesday's free agency kick-off.
