According to a source within the Lions organization, Titus Young won't be the only one cut this week. Reports are surfacing that offensive guard Stephen Peterman is also on his way out.
Peterman was due 2.73 million base salary this season in addition to his bonuses.
Peterman, according to Pro Football Focus, allowed a league worst 36 quarterback hurries this season. He has started every game at right guard for the Lions the past three seasons but change seemed inevitable along the offensive line.
"We're prepared for a lot of different ways," Schwartz said. "It didn't show this year because Riley (Reiff) had to play one game at left tackle, Jason Fox was an inactive for all but one game, Corey Hilliard was an inactive just about every game, but we have developed some pretty good players there. We have some pretty good players in the pipeline. If we think the best course of action is to go there, then we're prepared for that."
The team has yet to make the move official.
