Yesterday the Lions rid themselves of problem child Titus Young. Earlier today they let offensive guard Stephen Peterman to improve their interior line play. Kyle Vanden Bosch will be the next to go in Detroit.
The Lions were in line to pay Vanden Bosch in the vicinity of 7 million base salary with a 2 million signing bonus kicking in later this off-season.
Vanden Bosch, 34, has seen his play diminish last season. He had only 36 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 16 starts for the Lions in 2012.
In Jim Schwartz first full off-season as the Lions head coach, he waited outside Vanden Bosch's door and signed him when free agency began.
It is unclear whether or not the Lions will make a move for him at a lower salary.
